“100 Poppies Coin” raises £150,000 for Royal British Legion

As official distributor for the Official “100 Poppies” £5 coin issued in support of the Royal British Legion, The Westminster Collection is delighted to have helped raise £150,000 for to the ex-serviceman’s charity.

The “100 Poppies” coin has helped raise £150,000 for the Royal British Legion

Popularity for the annual Remembrance issued, which is legal tender in Jersey, was boosted by the increased interest surrounding the Centenary of the First World War and the Tower of London Poppies in particular.

Tens of thousands of the collectors benefited from owning the “100 Poppy” £5 coin for its face value, whilst many of the precious metal collector versions sold out in weeks.

Commenting on the success of the “100 Poppies” Coin, Chairman Stephen Allen said: “I’m delighted that in this centenary year, we have been able to provide so much support for the Royal British Legion, a charity born out of the horrors of the First World War.”

This year’s royalties, brings the total funds raised for the Royal British Legion up to £375,000 since 2006.
